Allusion as one of the main categories of intertextuality in E. Spenser’s sonnets

Abstract

In the article the types of intertextual interaction defining Spenser’s variant ofmyth-poetics are clarified. In the course of analysis of one of the sonnets from the cycle “Amoretti” created by the outstanding poet-Elizabethan on the basis of connection of antique poetic tradition and Petrarchism the constructive role of this device of the “textual work” is proved.
