The potential of communicative method in teaching English to students-philologists
AbstractIn the article the attempt is made to concentrate on teaching English to students-philologists as a special group of language learners. The prior attention is paid to the peculiarities of teaching this category of students. Additionally, we aim at characterizing distinctive learners’ characteristics and challenges the teachers face that definitely influence teachers’ planning decisions and the specification of goals. In the article a special emрhasis is laid upon the communicative method that could be used to form a balance between developing basic skills (speaking, grammar, reading and listening) in the process of real communication with more entertaining activities.
